FAQs about BOW’s Bible Studies

What does each lesson's format look like?

Most of the BOW studies are divided into three sections of study to be done during one week or all at once. A few studies are divided into five days of study. See each study’s description on the website for information about its number of lessons and format.

Some studies are called Journaling studies - what are they?

Because we ask open questions, using a journal to note your answers and insights allows you as much or little room as you want to write. Some of us get stressed as we try to figure out if we’ve written enough, so we leave it up to you. What are open questions? They are questions that aren’t yes/no or fill in the blank, but questions that force us to think.

How difficult are the BOW Bible studies?

They range from simple to more advanced. All have optional work that the small group won’t discuss, allowing deeper study for those who are interested in a more difficult study.

What New Testament studies do you offer?

Who Is This Jesus (Understanding Jesus from the I Am statements in the Gospel of John – free at bible.org)

Coming Home to Jesus: A Study of the Gospel of Luke

Kingdom Living: A Study of the Sermon on the Mount

Running the Race: A Study of the Life of Paul (free at bible.org)

Christians in a Hostile World: A Study of 1 Peter (free at bible.org)

Blue Jean Faith: A Study of James for Wise Women (only available at bible.org)

What do the studies cost?

The cost varies depending on whether it’s a download version, a paperback version or a free download from bible.org. Please go to the link on our website for the particular study to determine the cost and the format.
